Objective
CNV Internationaal wants to contribute to an inclusive, sustainable international society in which decent work for all is central. To this end, we want to deploy our knowledge, expertise and global network of trade union partners. From a Christian-social perspective, solidarity, the consultation model, trade union pluralism, personal responsibility and equal opportunities for employees are core values.
Social dialogue between employees, employers and government is the thread running through the programme. We use the knowledge and experience CNV Internationaal has in this field to strengthen social dialogue in the countries where we work with trade union partners.
Strengthening social dialogue, among other things, means ensuring that trade unions can make sound proposals, that trade unions can deploy competent and well-prepared negotiators and that a climate of trust develops among social partners.
Vision
Decent work is a prerequisite for an inclusive and sustainable international society. Decent work means a living wage, good and safe working conditions and constructive social dialogue between employer and employee so that labour rights are guaranteed.
Whether in the public, private or informal sector, decent work is the key to fighting poverty and reducing social inequality.
Trade unions have an important responsibility here as labour rights advocates, service providers, watchdogs for trade union and labour rights and in monitoring compliance with legislation and human rights more generally.
Trade unions make use of current developments where (international) corporate social responsibility is the norm.
