Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile

In 2013, the world was shocked by the collapse of the clothing factory Rana Plaza, which resulted in over 1.100 fatalities. This tragedy clarified how much risks of to be involved with absuses a company abroad faces.

Many clothing companies in the Netherlands have outsourced their production to countries outside of the European Union (EU). In those countries, the human rights, the health and safety of employees, the environment and animalwelfare could be at risk.

  • Stakeholders: Initially 79 signatories, 11 affiliated and 13 supporting parties. Take a look at the current list
