How to motivate suppliers to implement labour standards

Through innovative seminars and a supporting website, WellMade helps procurement officers in dealing with social criteria. On Tuesday, visitors and exhibitors of the Birmingham fair learned how to motivate their suppliers to respect and implement labour standards – and ensure that they do. They received hands on tools to have a positive impact on labour conditions in clothing supply chains.

Quality goes hand in hand with demands to include social criteria

Fair Wear Foundation launched the WellMade project for garment professionals in July 2013. Shortly after that, the organisation developed a procurement version too, as in today’s procurement landscape the demands for price and quality go hand in hand with demands to include social criteria in tender processes.

WellMade website informs procurement professionals

On the Wellmade website procurement professionals can find more information on making socially responsible choices. WellMade procurement sessions will be held at dozens of trade fairs and events across Europe.
